Welcome to Champlin Troop 276!

Troop 276 is an active and growing Scouts BSA troop, welcoming new members year-round! With over 30 Scouts and more joining each year, we focus on leadership, outdoor adventures, and hands-on learning.

What We Do

Our Scouts take part in a variety of activities, including:

  • Camping & Adventure – We camp monthly and attend Many Point Scout Camp, one of the top-ranked Scout camps in the world, right here in Minnesota! Each year, we also plan an exciting high adventure trip for an even bigger experience.
  • Skill Development & Advancement – Scouts work on rank advancement, merit badges, and valuable life skills.
  • Community Service – Giving back is a key part of Scouting. Our troop takes pride in serving the community through various projects and volunteer opportunities.
  • Fun & Fellowship – From game nights to team-building activities, we make time for fun while building friendships that last a lifetime.

Troop History

Founder & First Scoutmaster: Paul Wethern

Scouting was a lifelong passion for Paul Wethern. In 1930, he founded Troop 176, which later became Troop 276. In 2010, we proudly celebrated our 80th anniversary.

Paul was an active leader in both the Champlin and Anoka communities, leaving a lasting impact on generations of Scouts. To honor his legacy, our troop continues a tradition he started—ending every meeting by holding hands “left over right”—just to be a little different, as he intended.
